Governor of Kerala have notified the areas in Karunagappally, Thrikkakara, Eloor, Maradu, Kottakkal, Nilampur, Neeleswaram Grama Panchayats as smaller urban areas. for the purpose of Part IX A of the Constitution of India with effect from the 1st day of October, 2010. The Government have decided to amend the date of effect of the said notification as the 1st day of November, 2010 instead of 1st day of October 2010.
